Bévin
It's original form is Béibhinn. Both are pronounced "BAY vin." I would be keeping the é in Bévin, because I fear "Bevin" would end up being called "BEH vin."
What do you think of the Irish girls name...?
Hey Isobel!
I absolutely love the name Beibhinn, just the way it is. I asked my sister, who is a teacher, what she thought . She said it would actually be easier to remember the correct pronunciation with the authentic spelling. That spelled Bevin she would have a pronunciation already in mind. BEV - in.
With the Irish spelling she would draw a blank. So when the name was pronounced for her, BAY-vin, it would be the only she would see it. She wouldn't have to be told twice how to say it.
This is such a gorgeous name. If it were me , if I didn't think I could make it work with the original spelling, I would use it in the middle.
Charlotte Beibhinn
Rosamund Beibhinn
Miriam Beibhinn
It certainly is interesting in the middle.
Reply:i think it is a bit...not sure about it, i think bevin might be pronounced how you think it might be which would be bad
personally i think it is not pretty enough but i love the name bay by itself
Reply:I'm not to keen on it. It's not bad, I just don't like it. I would spell it the original way which is Béibhinn just because I hate misspellings and different spellings.
Reply:Bévin - I like the look of the spelling much more than Béibhinn.. the only thing is it will probably be pronounced bev-in not bay-vin by others.
Reply:I like it, it's different, still easy to say and spell
I like Bevin, that's the girl spelling, right
Reply:I knew a Bevin, I thought it was a cute name. I'd never heard it any other time, she was perky and fun!!
Reply:It's interesting, but it doesn't appeal to me.
Reply:It is cool and different to my eyes.
Reply:I like it.
You don't meet too many Bévins. =)
