Its a story of why a man cant come into work this day.

there was something abut lifting a barrel of bricks and the bricks and the barrel came crashing down .

and also im not sure if there the same but theres a war veteran who cant march in a parade but im preety sure he used to

if you can give me the name to either song id be EXTREMELY greatful

Cant remember the name of two irish songs?
the second song might be "and the band played waltzing matilda". i have a recording by the three irish tenors. it details a young australian being shipped off to gallipoli in the first world war who loses his legs when a shell exploded close to him. it ends as he describes the parades held for the veterans of the australian services each year, in which he cannot march, as he is an amputee.
Reply:Don't know about first song but perhaps second one could be Waltzing Matilda by the Pogues. Lyrics are about Australian soldiers going to Turkey to fight in The First World War and of their return home, its a brilliant poignant song
Reply:The second song is "And the band played waltzing Matilda" and I have to be honest I don't know the first one. Sorry.
Reply:The first one is 'Why Paddy's not at work today', and the second is 'And the Band played Waltzing Mathilda'. To favourites of my Dad's.
Reply:The first ONE is by the wolfe tones, paddy can,t work today, its goes on for ages. And its very funny too.
