I don't know what Merlos means.


Ramirez means "Son of Ramon", and Ramon, in turn, is like the Irish Raymond, so it would be "Adam Merlos Raymondson / Raymonds".

the son of in any Irish surname is O'Hare. O'Shea, O'Malley etc.
Reply:It could be that you have ancestors who where part of the Spanish Armarda and were 'shipwrecked' onto Ireland. Just an idea from a book I read once.
