Looking for an Irish name ?

Hi guys,

I once went to Ireland and I met a woman who had a baby girl named after an Irish custom I guess.

I would like to know how it can be spelled, if anyone knows it. She pronounced it "Eefa" or something like that. A long eeee and then "fa" or "pha".

Can anyone Irish help me ?

Thanks and sorry for the mistakes, I'm French

Looking for an Irish name ?
It is spelled "A-o-i-f-e" and means beautiful or radiant :)
Reply:Aoife

"beautiful, radiant, joyful." Known as the greatest woman warrior in the world, Aoife was the mother of Cuchulainn's only son, Connlach. Aoife Dearg ("Red Aoife") was a daughter of a king of Connacht who had her marriage arranged by St. Patrick himself.
Reply:Probably Aoife, which I think is like the Irish version of Eva (pronounced with the f sound instead of the v).
