I personally have not heard this Irish name but I believe the closest equivalent is Sadhbh

See the links below

What is the irish version of the name "sonia"?
"sonia" with an irish accent?
Reply:There isn't one. In primary school, all people have their names translated into the Irish version, if it's possible, and Sonia is never changed.
Reply:sonia..the other version is sonja
Reply:sonya,to be sure to be sure

Reply:Jockingly- with no offence please. Read 'sonia'. backwords. Is'nt it, ' ainos'. Speak the word loudly - ie. eyenose. Now split %26amp; simplify it further, the word will be eye %26amp; nose. These two are the main features of ones face. But if by any chance one is not happy about the shape of his/ her eyes or nose, wonder what will they do? May be a cosmetic surgen will come to their help or live with the fact of accepting what ever you've got, is the best. In my opinion pronounce the name as it is without going into depth of irish version. Instead, think of Italian / indian version of sonia gandhi.
Reply:Sonia doesnt have an "Irish Version" it is not an Irish name and therefore doesnt have a version. We do use the name here and spell it the same way or else Sonya. There are some beautiful Irish names out there if you want an authentic one!
Reply:a lot of names are not translated into irish they are just the same and id say that goes for sonia
Reply:same thing.
