Was the drug's name Bufferin an insult for irish?

By the 50's till the 70's?

Was the drug's name Bufferin an insult for irish?
I can't even imagine how you arrived at that hypothesis.

Bufferin is a combination of two words: buffered and aspirin, thus Bufferin.
Reply:Yes I heard it long time ago and it was an insult in the sense like silly, dumb, stupid and slow. But it is long gone. Times are changing. The little older Australians called us, the new ones "wogs" and its also gone with the wind.
Reply:Never heard of that one- could be one of those folklore things
