Reply:The best Irish rock band, though no longer together, is The Pogues. They are absolutely raucous; the lead singer, Shane MacGowan, eventually got kicked out because of his alcoholism and outrageous behavior, but The Pogues had a great unmistakably Irish rockin' sound with great lyrics. They started in 1982, and after MacGowan left the band in 1991, they continued with Joe Strummer (from the Clash, of course) and later Spider Stacy on vocals before breaking up in 1996. The Pogues got back together again in 2001, but they have yet to record any new music.


(And BTW, I'm not '30 or younger' by a long stretch...)
Reply:I don't if they fall in the category you're looking for, but I used to listen to blue, westlife, boyzone(old group ronan keaton used to be in), and take that(old group robbie william was part of)

haha. seriously though id say TAT is a good English band if youre into punk. Keane is another great one, more soft rock oriented, and i think theyre from London.
