I also love Aoife, E谩bha, Siobh谩n and S谩oirse for girls!
Reply:I think Fiachra, Niall (I think it would sound kind of like Neil?), Riordan is nice too.

For girls I think Neasa and Tuathla are nice. I don't really know how you would pronounce the rest of the girl names but I might like them if I knew how:)

I think it is good that you want to keep your history and culture. I think it is important:)

Good luck.
Reply:Boy: I like Caoimh铆n, Feidhlim, Ruaidhr铆 and Tadhg

Girl: I like Caoimhe. Neasa is nice too. Not too keen on the others though.

Just so you know, even in Ireland, some of these names would be seen as over the top and pretentious. Don't know if that makes any difference to you or not
Reply:We dont except you to delete your history. However these are VERY old names. Honestly, they dont look like they are spelled properly. Unless you are raising your child in Ireland, I guess it wouldnt seem to terrible. My best friend is Irish, her name is Muirghread(pronounced Mer raid) Those are just right out there. Look for more modern names instead of 1700's. They sound like a bunch of old Irish drinks made these up during happy hour. Deidre is the only one I could say.

Good luck %26amp; bless that poor child.
Reply:I have never heard any of these, and i dont really know how to pronounce them, but for a girl i think Ellery is really pretty. I know that is a very irish name. My friends brothers name is Decklin, that very Irish also.
Reply:You might know how to pronounce and spell these names, but no one else will.

The only two that are remotely easy enough for random people to understand are Niall and Dierdre. The others just seem like you're trying too hard.
Reply:Deirdre is cute.

and

Aodh is also nice.

I personally don't know how to pronounce the rest.
Reply:where are you from?

I find it beyond annoying that an American would give their child an Irish name for no apparent reason - except that they think its 'quirky'

I'll bet most people on here (including yourself) cannot even pronounce the majority of these names.

I can pronounce them but only because i can speak Gaeilge (irish).

This seriously made me roll my eyes.

Im FROM Ireland and half of these names ive never seen in my life.

EDIT. Is he actually from Ireland? If so, im really surprised he likes any of these names. Most of them are just weird. Is he 'part' irish?

Thats the only solution i can come up with.

No-one in ireland would dream of calling their kids (most of) these names. This was copied from a website like! Theyre terribly old fashioned and random - for the most part.

Im really not trying to be harsh. But maybe try and pick a name that is still irish but wont leave everyone baffled!

*Colm, Liam, Conor, Killian, Enda, Sean

*Shannon, Erin, Niamh, Aisling

EDIT. lol ok fine.

My choices would be Tadhg for a boy and Caoimhe for a girl

old maid
