Lachlan? (prn: Lock-lan)
Would you have trouble pronouncing it just by looking at it. If so where are you from?
thanks!
Do you like this irish boy name?
I am from the US I like it when you show how its Pronounced however; when I first saw it I thought it would sound like
"latch lan" I hope that helps but I like the originality of it!
Reply:From the US and I would pronounce it Latch lan but could be taught to say Lock-lan!
I like the name very much!
How about
Quinn Lachlan
Scott Lachlan
Jack Lachlan
Reply:yes i would have trouble pronouncing it.
Reply:I think it's adorable. But Im a huge fan of Gaelige Irish names. Ive been looking into some really nice Gaelige names too, but have been concerned about people not knowing how to pronounce the name.
I would know how to say it... but Im from an Irish American family, so Ive been exposed to it.
Reply:I think its Scottish not Irish.
But its very nice. The "ch" is a hard "ch" as in "loch, bach" etc
And Elaine if you were from "an Irish American family" you would know that the correct name of the Irish language is "Gaelic" not "gaelige".
and its actually just called "Irish" in Ireland.
Reply:My son's name is Declan. I wouldn't have trouble pronouncing Lachlan (upstate NY) but lots of people mispronounce my son's name as 'Dee Clan'. Overall, my son who is 8 years old now, says he likes his name and that it's different from most. If you love it, I say go for it!
Reply:I do like it! I'm from Canada and would know exactly how to say the name if I saw it. It's a lovely name.
Reply:ehh...if ur in ireland then its probably okay. in americaaaaa its a little funky.
Reply:I thouch Lock-lan straight away.
Lovely name, (I am Irish btw).
Reply:my guy says sound like a city in Nevada and asked if you planned on having your son the size of Nevada...
I was going say it sounds like a female country singer name or a law office not a kids name.
how about Leland??
Reply:try lochlan, i like it that way better it's easier to read. and i likey good luck and congrats
Reply:yes i would have trouble saying it, i'm sorry! i'm from michigan usa
